Shannon Whitaker is a Greensboro, NC native who moved to Washington, DC to attend Howard University. She volunteered at numerous public and public charter schools and upon graduation became an Early Childhood Education teacher. She earned a Master of Early Childhood Special Education at the University and Maryland at College Park. She has taught in public and private schools in the DC area for 14
Shannon credits her curiosity and love of education to her mother, Linda Whitaker, who is a retired preschool teacher.
She dedicates this business to her mother and peace-loving father, the late Garry Gilyard.
Through my knowledge of developmental milestones and early earning standards, I offer coaching for families with children aged 3-5 years old. This includes strategies for introducing early reading, writing, and math skills as well as the organic incorporation of science and social studies topics and methods of measuring mastery in these areas for future schooling decisions.
